Collection Abstract Ruth Hall Hardy papers consists of a five page handwritten draft of Hardy's reminiscences of practicing social work in New York City during the Depression and World War II and the challenges faced by all classes of society during this period. Also included is a letter from Anne Henley, the Social Services Librarian at the Newton Free Library, to Hardy in 1975 containing Emma Lazarus's poem "The New Colossus".
