Historical Abstract Barbara Wears Stephens graduated from the Prince School of Store Service Education at Simmons College in 1935. Previously, she attended the University of Vermont in the Home Economics Course for three years (1931-1934). While attending school, she gained experience in sales at: the Gimbal Brothers, Inc. in New York; the William Filene's Sons Company in Boston; the E.T. Slattery Company in Boston; The Gilchrist Company in Boston; and at Abernathy, Clarkson, and Wright, Inc. in Burlington, Vermont.

Biographical Note

Barbara Wears Stephens was a 1935 graduate from the Prince School of Store Service Education.(1) She was born on July 3, 1913. She went to high school at Burlington High School in Burlington, Vermont. Stephens attended the University of Vermont, in Burlington, Vermont, for three years in the Home Economics Course, from September 1931 to June 1934. She then attended the Prince School of Store Service Education for the academic year, 1934-1935. She graduated from Simmons College with a BS degree in June 1935.

While attending school, she gained experience at: the Gimbal Brothers, Inc. in New York from November 19, 1934 to December 22, 1934; the William Filene's Sons Company in Boston; the E.T. Slattery Company in Boston in April 1935; The Gilchrist Company in Boston in the Fall of 1934; and at Abernathy, Clarkson, and Wright, Inc. in Burlington, Vermont from July 1934 to August 1934.(2)

This series contains Barbara Wears Stephens' notes, exams, and project reports arranged by class subject.
