Madeline Williams Bonney attended Worcester Classical High School. She was a member of the class of 1925 at Simmons College in the Secretarial program. While in attendance at Simmons she was involved in hockey and track.(1) After graduating she held a job at the Maynard (Mass.) High School as the acting head of the Commercial Department.(2) After this job she worked at Quincy Senior High School teaching commercial geography and first year-typing.(3)
Bonney was married to Richard P. Bonney on December 26, 1930. After the marriage, they moved to Jamaica Plain.(4) The couple had one son, Richard Whiting Bonney, born December 4, 1932.(5)
Bonney was very involved with her class and the Alumnae Association. She served as President for the Class of 1925 between 1960-1964.(6) After this time she served as Secretary, a position which she held for almost 30 years, until her death in 1993.(7) According to one reunion booklet, Bonney was a "very active club woman!" She was involved in groups such as: Women's Church Group, Republican Club of West Roxbury, Woman's Club of West Roxbury and the National Society for Preservation of Covered Bridges, serving as president of all of these at one time or another.(8)
Bonney resided at 63 Vermont Street, West Roxbury, Mass. for the majority of her postgraduate life, until moving to a nursing home.(9)
