Historical Abstract | Mary Barbara Shields, more often known as Barb Shields, was an undergraduate at Simmons College from 1931-1935, and member of the Class of 1935. Throughout her education she lived in the Boston neighborhood of West Roxbury. She received her degree in English and was very active in student organizations and events. She moved out of Boston in 1959 to Mamomet, Massachusetts, where she was still living in 2003. Shields remained active with the Reunion Committees for the class of 1935 for the 25th, 45th, 50th, and 60th reunions. She created the 50th Reunion booklet and the 25th reunion update gives some good insight into her personality. |

Mary Barbara Shields, more often known as Barb Shields, was an undergraduate at Simmons College from 1931-1935, and member of the Class of 1935. Throughout her education she lived in the Boston neighborhood of West Roxbury. She received her degree in English and was very active in student organizations and events. She was Badminton Manager, Freshman Class President, Ping-Pong manager, and part of English club, Honor Board, Junior Welcome Committee, Newman Club, Reporter, News, S.A.A, Senior Prom Committee, and Student Government.(1) She moved out of Boston in 1959 to Manomet, Massachusetts. She retired in 1975 from a career in proofreading.
Shields remained active with the Reunion Committees for the class of 1935, for the 25th, 45th, 50th, and 60th. She created the 50th Reunion booklet and the 25th reunion update gives some good insight into her personality.(2)
