Priscilla Leonard McKee, 1919-1998, served as a Simmons College staff member for thirty one years beginning in 1957. McKee was born in Somerville, Mass., March 27, 1919. She was married to Richard (Dick) McKee and they had one son named Stephen. Prior to her appointment at Simmons College, McKee was a graduate of Lexington High School and attended Bates College from 1937 to 1939 and the Katherine Gibbs School from 1939 to 1940. She was a volunteer and a secretary to the principal at Fiske School in Lexington, Mass. and Lexington Junior High. In 1957, McKee was appointed assistant to the placement director at Simmons College. In 1963, she became an assistant to President William E. Park and continued in this position when President William J. Holmes became president in 1970. McKee became the administrative Vice President of Simmons College in 1979 and served in this position until her retirement in June 1988. In 1988, she received an honorary doctorate of Humane Administration from Simmons College. McKee died on April 11, 1998 at the age of 79. The Priscilla L. McKee Fund at Simmons College was established in her honor.
