Title

Dear White People

Date

Fall 2016

Description

"In this zine you will find information on stereotypes about people of color that have been perpetuated in our socio-cultural landscape. These stereotypes serve as various forms of oppression that impact us in our daily lives. From institutionalized systems of oppression to underhanded microaggressions, racism is now perceived as non-existent. With a black president, it is perceived that we are living in a post-racial society; however, the reality is that we now live in a color-blind society. Colorblindness ignores the systematic ways racism affects people of color. Our zine will highlight the experiences faced by Asian Americans, Blacks, and White Privilege and allyship. May the sparks of anger, passion, and hope give insight into the struggles of people of color and help fight the oppression they face." -from the zinesters
