Description
Library student Dorothy May Black was considered “an ardent suffragette” by her fellow students and was involved in residence life and dramatics. After graduating in 1917, Black returned to her hometown of Stamford, Connecticut, where she took a job as an assistant at the Ferguson Library. She later worked at a branch of the New York Public Library, resigning shortly before her marriage to the Reverend Glenn B. Coykendall in 1922.
